LETHE

3D video / HD(side by side) / color / 21min. / Apr. 2023

This is a 3D video work that observes the daytime scenery with one eye and the nighttime scenery with the other. What do we see when landscapes from different times become one in our minds?
In Greek mythology, "LETHE" is the name of the river of oblivion in the underworld. When you close one eye, the landscape flies into the past/future, and the impressions you have captured are swept into oblivion. The 'uncertainty' that appears when visual information passes from now to different times, or from the right brain to the left brain, expresses that 'consciousness' is trapped in one time.
